Classic car mad owner who likes restoring and visiting local car meetings
Hi, Welcome to my Web page for Gary's Classic Cars,
I started a YouTube channel as a bit of fun but it now seems to have taken off a little bit not massively but I am very happy where I am at the moment considering I've only been operational for 12 months. I've now developed a webpage where I can add information on the events that I plan to attend and future events along with some of the YouTube videos that I have posted to make life a bit easier for everybody.
I also intend in the future to get some window stickers and other merchandise and advertise them on here if there is enough interest.
I am just a normal guy from Wigan, who has a passion for old classic cars whether restoring them tinkering or visiting local shows and doing a bit of video footage. I am no professional and everything is done on my iPhone or my Osmo three handheld recorder which is perfect for what I need, I do all my own editing on my laptop and i know it's not perfect, but it is real life and hopefully that comes across, as you've noticed I do not have any swearing on my videos, I think it's unprofessional and not necessary. I did have a few issues earlier on with microphones on my videos, and now going onto the DJI Microphone and it's been brilliant as you will noticed on the quality of my sound on later videos.
I have a passion for cars. I have owned plenty in the past, starting my life at 15 years old into Classics with the Ford Anglia 105e a purchased from a local scrapyard for the great sum of £10 and then had that for many years moving onto classic minis round nose and 1275GT's then I went into MGBs & MGF to others cars as I sold a few vehicles in the garage I worked at for a few years. I also owned a Mk 3 Escort 1300 GL, Mk4 cortina 2000 auto. I then purchased an XR3 in Sunburst Red and then had a Mk1 Fiestas, one being a Sandpiper Edition Roman Bronze with a Cream lower section, followed by 3 XR2's Mk 1s, Caspian Blue, Diamond White and Sunburst Red, Mk2 diesel, I then got into Austin 1300s and I've had four 1300 GT's, two of them which were Bronze Yellow, a Glaicer White one and a Teal Blue Morris version, alongside that I had a Morris Traveller 1300 estate and the Riley 1300 for quite a collection at the time.
I've also had a 1972 MGB GT finished in Teal Blue which I had for many years along with an Mk4 Escort van personalised to look like an RS turbo van recently I got into Hillman Imps and have my Red Sunbeam Sport which I have owned since 2004 and fully restored in my garage at home, however I did get a professional paint job done , since then I have updated some of the paint work due to stone chips and general use.
I also owned a 1968 Forest Green Singer Chamois Sport which was quite rare which I fully restored and painted in my garage have recently sold this on to a great owner who will really cherish the car in between the twos Imps I used to have a Mini 30 in metallic Pearlscent Red which I again restored within my garage but unfortunately sold that on due to having the second Imp and having restricted space in the garage.
I have now since bought a Mk2 XR2 in Stratos Silver which have restored in my garage at home which took me around five months, so then sold the Chamois Sport due to lack of space. I will try and find some more photos of the vehicles I used to have and upload them onto this page then you'll have an idea of what I've owned and you could see the standard I restore my vehicles too.
